Apart from the UK, what is the general view of the EU?
I know the common view of the EU here in the UK, but what are the views of other members? Is it the similar to us, our government are in favour but the people are not?
Which countries are big supports of the EU, and what countries are against it?
Im irish and over here despite the rejection of the Lisbon treaty, the general population are big supports of the Eu project and would desrcibe them selves to be proud to be ‘European’ as well as Irish. This is mainly because we are a small Island and have suffered for many years because of the British and because of Europe we are finally free from Britain. Sure we became independ in the 1920s but were economically dependent on Britain till we joined Europe. I know that Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and all of the Eastern European states are very in favour of the EU project.
Most People except Britain, including holland, france, ireland, spain, portugal… we are all in favour and support the EU. Its just many of us do not agree on the way it is being done. some have said the lisbon treaty will make the EU resemble the USSR then USA, is in it will be very undemocratic.
